Greetings,
Hey Girlfriend Network hosted its 4th Annual Girlfriends Luncheon in July, 2010. Even with the current economic crisis, over 150 women supported this years' event. There were 181 guests who attended the 2009 event and 121 guests at the 2008 event.
Diverse women of all ages and backgrounds attend these wonderful events. The luncheon offers an opportunity for the guests to communicate with each other in order to develop new and favorable relationships. The objective is to have the guests contribute something positive and life changing to one another through these social networking events.
After seeing Oprah Winfrey's televised "Legend's
Ball", my dream began to create a similar event
to uplift the unity and friendships of women. It is
my goal to continue to make this girlfriends luncheon
an annual event.
In addition, an annual toy and coat drive has been established. Toys are collected and distributed to underprivileged children during the holiday season by Helping One Another Progress, Inc. Donated gently used coats are distributed by the Los Angeles Mission. In December 2009, we also received a generous donation of toys by Toys for Tots and these items were donated to many children in the South Central L.A. area.
It is my desire to continue these social networking
events to bring a smile to someone and encourage people
to communicate in a positive manner with one another.
May God give me and everyone involved in the network
the strength to keep it going.
